Peter McPoland

Peter McPoland brings his intimate pop songs to the Melkweg in Amsterdam on 22 March 2026. The American singer-songwriter moves between indie pop, alternative rock and folk-tinged ballads, with songs built around voice, guitar and straightforward storytelling. His home-recorded tracks first found an audience online; the breakthrough of “Romeo & Juliet” in the early 2020s set him on a course through venues across the US. Live he continues that approach: compact songs, choruses that land immediately, a band that opens up the sound and plenty of room for dynamics and vocal expression.

With the EP Slow Down (2022) he increased production without losing the intimacy. On Piggy (2023) he sounds fuller and more playful, with melodies that stick and lyrics about youth, family and vulnerability. McPoland keeps things accessible but lets his songs breathe, with attention to narrative and a distinct vocal presence.
