Seedhe Maut

Seedhe Maut will perform on 15 May 2026 at the Melkweg in Amsterdam. The duo from New Delhi — MCs Encore ABJ (Abhijay Negi) and Calm (Siddhant Sharma) — have steadily moved to the forefront of independent Indian hip‑hop since the mid‑2010s. They rap in Hindi and Urdu with technique and momentum: rapid flows, tight timing and lyrics that portray city life, social pressure and the viewpoint of a young generation. From open mics and small venues they grew through regular releases and collaborations with producers from the new wave.

With Bayaan (2018) they sharpened their approach; Nayaab (2022) puts the tension between ambition, economic reality and outside expectations at the center. Live, the focus is on complementarity: two voices that alternate—contrasting and in different registers—from introspective passages to pure performance and more melodic hooks. At the Melkweg they present that interplay in a straightforward way, with a set that switches between storytelling and energy and demonstrates how broad and agile independent hip‑hop from India sounds today.
