Julian Sas

On March 7, 2026 Julian Sas will be at Metropool in Almelo. The Dutch guitarist and singer has established a firm place in European blues-rock since the mid-1990s, fronting a power trio built around groove, dynamics and plenty of room to play. His music draws on the electric blues and rock of the 1960s and 1970s: energetic boogie alongside slow blues ballads and heavier riffs, always leaving space for improvisation and long guitar lines that let the song breathe.

With the Julian Sas Band he spent years touring clubs and festivals in the Netherlands, Germany and beyond, with the stage remaining the core of his work. In the set he places his own songs alongside reinterpretations of classics, gradually building melody and tension. Albums such as For The Lost and Found (2004) and Bound To Roll (2012) mark that shift toward a more melodic approach, but live it’s still about the moment: riffs that shift, stories that surface in the songs, and a band that can loosen the reins when the music calls for it.
