Stef Bos: Ik Zing

On 28 June 2026 Stef Bos will perform Ik Zing at Caprera in Bloemendaal. The singer‑songwriter and storyteller, born in Veenendaal and active for years between the Netherlands, Belgium and South Africa, builds his concerts around voice, narrative and song. He started as a lyricist (including “Door de wind”) and took his first steps in Dutch‑language music with Is dit nu later and the song Papa. Since then he has moved between kleinkunst and understated pop, leaving room for acoustic textures and text. His bond with South Africa is audible in Afrikaans and in collaborations that add rhythm and colour without losing the core.

Ik Zing continues in that vein: songs about family, memory, identity and the search for meaning, sung in clear Dutch and sometimes in Afrikaans, alternated with short spoken interludes that frame the songs. The set stays close to the source, with melodies that carry the words and moments of silence alongside pulsing passages. Well‑known repertoire gains a different perspective alongside newer material. The result is an evening that unfolds like a single story, in which Bos’s voice and pen provide the starting point and the stage becomes the place where his chansons and stories meet.
