Sandi Thom

On 24 April 2026 Sandi Thom will perform at Cpunt Poppodium in Hoofddorp. The songwriter, born in Banff, Scotland, emerged in the mid-2000s with acoustic pop-folk and stories of everyday life, shaped at the Liverpool Institute for Performing Arts and sharpened in small London venues. Her debut Smile… It Confuses People yielded the single “I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in My Hair)”, which established her signature: songs built around acoustic guitar, a direct vocal and melodies that hit straight away. She then moved toward electrically tinged pop and later to a more pronounced blues-rock, with Merchants and Thieves as the turning point. On Flesh and Blood she deepened that roots-oriented side, drawing on Americana and soul influences.

Live, Sandi brings those developments together: intimate and acoustic when the song calls for it, more driving when the groove is allowed to speak. Expect a set that places early favourites alongside more recent work, with room for new arrangements and a few carefully chosen covers.
