Youssoupha

On June 12, 2026 at Le Kilowatt in Vitry-sur-Seine, Youssoupha headlines the bill. Born in Kinshasa and settled in France at a very young age, he weaves a rap that blends gospel, soul and echoes of West Africa. His lyrics alternate introspection and social observation, with a precise sense of storytelling and striking images that linger. Clear flow, chiselled writing, hooks that stick: on stage he circulates the word, paces the tension and lets the music breathe. A live show refocused on the lyric, musicality and collective energy.

EJM opens the night. A longtime Vitry resident from the outset, with roots in breakdancing and graffiti, he made himself heard from the late 1980s on Radio Nova (Deenastyle) and with Nous vivons tous. He appears in 1990 on the compilation Rapattitude with Élément dangereux, then on a series of projects between major and indie — from État de Choc to La Rue et le Biz — before founding G’PROD. On stage, he links these milestones with clear diction and a sense of rhythm honed over time.

La Brigade completes the lineup. A collective formed in 1995, first noticed with L’Officieux and later signed to Barclay, the group released Le Testament in 1999, which went gold. Without a designated leader, they cultivate a crew spirit and politically engaged rap, driven by complementary voices. In concert, the alternation of timbres and the group’s cohesion produce a team-oriented rap, direct and tightly focused on the text.
