Toc Toc de Laurent Baffie

On June 10, 2026, at the Théâtre Beaulieu in Nantes, Laurent Baffie’s Toc Toc brings together six patients in the waiting room of Dr. Stern, a world-renowned neuropsychiatrist who keeps them waiting. Palilalia, nosophobia, Tourette syndrome, an inability to walk on lines… each arrives with their disorder, their rituals and their way of keeping panic at bay. The doctor’s delay forces the group to talk to one another, to size each other up, and then to invent ways to pass the time, amid absurd rules, confidences and small negotiations.

In Laurent Baffie’s writing, language, tics and outbursts become the driving force of the situations, oscillating between misunderstandings and confessions. The waiting transforms into a shared space where everyone tests their own limits and those of others, until they find an unexpected form of mutual support.

Pascal Maillard’s staging emphasizes rhythm and group listening. Mathieu Gaudin, Marie Elie, Sophie Morin, Nelly Pichotbadeaud, Kamal Rawas and Olivier Collin carry this ensemble comedy, bringing to life the obsessions, uncontrollable impulses and attempts at control that run through these six characters confined to the same room.
