Black Sea Dahu: Everything Tour

Black Sea Dahu is the project of Swiss singer-songwriter Janine Cathrein, a fluid collective that sits somewhere between band and family. Their songs seek intimacy rather than posing, carried by a warm, deep voice, delicately placed guitars, strings and percussion. With the new album Everything (released 20 February 2026) the group peels back layer by layer more of themselves: vulnerability, hope, self-questioning and the calm to endure it all. On 30 September 2026 Black Sea Dahu will bring these songs to Die Pumpe in Kiel.

The new pieces were born out of grief — the death of Janine’s father — and from the feeling of living in a world undergoing upheaval. Live, the band translates this into a concentrated intensity: quiet tension, slow buildups, voices layering over one another and drawing the space tighter. No grand gestures, but clear images and lines that linger.

Musically, Black Sea Dahu moves between indie folk, chamber pop and a hint of art rock, without wanting to be pigeonholed. Since White Creatures (2018) and I Am My Mother (2022) they have gently opened up their sound while preserving the intimacy of their beginnings. Everything continues that trajectory — more direct, more honest, and onstage as close as possible.
