On November 11, 2026, The Palace Theatre in Calgary hosts Wolf Parade. Formed in 2003 in Montreal by Spencer Krug, Dan Boeckner and Arlen Thompson, the band built a sharp, melodic strain of indie rock: tense rhythms, angular guitars and saturated keys, with vocals shared between Krug and Boeckner. From Apologies to the Queen Mary through At Mount Zoomer and Expo 86, then Cry Cry Cry and Thin Mind, their writing has moved from jagged urgency toward more structured, synth-forward songs. On stage, the dialogue between piano, synths and guitars carries songs built on repeating motifs, post-punk edges and touches of new wave.
Destroyer, the project of Dan Bejar, brings a different contour to the night, centered on idiosyncratic songwriting and shifting arrangements. His elliptical phrasing and imagery sit over music that can be spare and intimate or more electric and layered, offering a complementary angle to Wolf Parade’s interplay while staying anchored in the same independent spirit.
