Bernard Lavilliers

Bernard Lavilliers returns in concert on January 29, 2027, at the Summum in Grenoble. A singer-songwriter from Saint-Étienne, he has shaped a repertoire in which French chanson blends with rock, reggae, Brazilian rhythms and Caribbean sounds. His lyrics, fed by travel, ports and social realities, create urban and maritime settings, between storytelling and travelogue. On stage his deep voice is supported by arrangements that are often orchestrated, with musicians accustomed to crossing acoustic and electric textures and adding jazz-inflected touches.

From O gringo and État d’urgence to Carnets de bord, his career has made many stops and fostered numerous collaborations, culminating in Clair-obscur in 2021. This concert continues that trajectory: narrative songs, lilting rhythms, rock riffs and more intimate pauses, a constant back-and-forth between France and Latin America. You will hear songs both old and new, carried by songwriting attentive to landscapes and human journeys. Between collective energy and long-distance ballads, the setlist ties together the different facets of a singer-songwriter for whom travel remains, above all, a matter of music.
