Bernard Lavilliers is back on the road. On April 8, 2027, he will be at the Colisée in Chartres for a concert where journeys, ports, cities and social realities resonate. Since the 1970s, the Saint-Étienne native has blended French chanson and rock with reggae, Brazilian rhythms and Caribbean echoes. A former factory worker and seasoned traveler, he nourishes his lyrics with wanderings, urban chronicles and maritime imagery. His deep voice unfolds stories, supported by arrangements that welcome strings, brass, guitars and percussion. On stage, Lavilliers navigates between his classic repertoire and more recent titles — from O gringo and État d’urgence to Carnets de bord and the tracks from Clair-obscur. The songs flow like road journals, alternating Latin pulses, groove and ballads. In Chartres, he brings together his various facets—chronicler, traveler, curious musician—for a moment focused on writing and rhythm, without frills.
