Info
On 15 September 2026 at the Café de la Danse in Paris, Northern Irish singer-songwriter Foy Vance presents the songs from The Wake, his new album announced for spring. Produced by Ethan Johns and supported by Jeremy Stacey on drums, this chapter extends his fusion of folk, soul and Southern blues, carried by a raspy voice and straightforward guitar playing.
Born in Bangor and dividing his time between Northern Ireland and the southern United States, Vance made his name with songwriting that blends introspective ballads and roots influences. His work has progressed from Hope (2007) to Joy of Nothing (2013), then The Wild Swan (2016, on Ed Sheeran’s Gingerbread Man Records), followed by the diptych From Muscle Shoals and To Memphis (2019) and Signs of Life (2021). At the same time he co-writes for other artists—most notably with Ed Sheeran on “Tenerife Sea” and “Afire Love”—and collaborates with the likes of Sheryl Crow and Rudimental. Several of his songs have resonated in series such as Grey’s Anatomy and Sons of Anarchy.
On stage, Foy Vance pares things back: raspy voice, guitar up front, no-frills storytelling. A set tailored for closeness and nuance, where the songwriting leads the rest.
