On May 22, 2026 at TCU Place in Saskatoon, The Fray brings the Summer of Light Tour back to a piano-led alternative rock they’ve shaped since the early 2000s. Formed in Denver around singer‑pianist Isaac Slade and guitarist Joe King, the band built its sound on understated guitars, close harmonies and lyrics that circle relationships and doubt. On stage, they thread together early standouts like Over My Head (Cable Car) and How to Save a Life with material from later albums, from the self‑titled release to Scars & Stories and Helios, jousting between ballad contours and more open, atmospheric textures.
Sharing the bill, Toronto’s The Strumbellas push an indie folk-rock that leans on group vocals and simple, repeatable refrains. Centered on the songwriting of Simon Ward and carried live by vocalist Jimmy Chauveau, the band shifts easily from campfire melodies to brisk, electric tempos. Spirits remains a set anchor, while newer tracks from Part Time Believer sketch their current line: compact rhythms, bright hooks and a collective chorus feel that tilts the show toward a communal singalong mood.
