Vancouver-based Jade LeMac crafts alt-pop built on intimate writing and coming-of-age stories. First noticed online with tracks like Aimed to Kill and Constellations, she pushed her sound with the 2023 EP Constellations: melodic songs with a darker edge, a clear voice upfront, catchy refrains and modern pop production threaded with subtle electronic shades. Her themes orbit desire, queer relationships, breakups and self-construction.
La Roux, the synth-pop project led by Elly Jackson, draws a sharp line between new wave and 80s-influenced electronic pop.
