Formed in early-90s Sacramento, Cake land at Queen Elizabeth Theatre in Vancouver on August 26, 2026 with their lean, left-field take on alternative rock. John McCrea’s half-spoken vocals set the tone, carried by front-and-center bass lines, dry drum patterns and the unmistakable trumpet lines of Vince DiFiore. Country swing, funk bounce, indie-pop hooks and a hint of brass-band flair fold into compact songs built on repeating motifs and clipped grooves.
