With “Das war doch grad’ erst eben – 50 Years on Stage,” Stefan Gwildis looks back on half a century of live experience and brings his German-language soul signature to Bremen. On 8 May 2026 at the Metropol Theater Bremen, the Hamburg singer will present songs from his journey between soul, pop and jazz-tinged influences: original compositions alongside German-language adaptations of major soul classics, supported by a band featuring brass, string textures and a rhythm section rooted in rhythm & blues.

Gwildis favors warm, organic soundscapes, expressive singing and multi-voice harmonies. His lyrics revolve around relationships, everyday observations and small vignettes that avoid pathos and tell their stories directly. Having come from Hamburg’s theatre scene and cover bands, he has sharpened his style as a solo artist since the 1990s and has repeatedly worked with big bands and collectives — experiences that shape his stagecraft.
