Mammoth

On November 5, 2026, Mammoth will play at the Gruenspan in Hamburg. Behind Mammoth is Wolfgang Van Halen, a US multi-instrumentalist and the son of Eddie Van Halen. After years as the bassist in Van Halen, he launched his own project, initially as Mammoth WVH, now simply Mammoth. His sound blends alternative rock, heavy riffs and a clear sense of melody.

The debut album was created entirely independently: Wolfgang wrote, played and produced everything himself. It includes tracks like "Don't Back Down" and "Epiphany"; "Distance", a tribute to his father, marked the start of the project. With the second album, Mammoth II, he sharpened the direction: denser guitars, firmer grooves and concise songwriting.

Live, Wolfgang takes the stage with a well-rehearsed band that delivers the studio versions with energy and precision. Guitars and vocals carry the performance, the timing is tight, and the dynamics shift between drive and melody. The setlist draws from both albums and showcases Mammoth where the material has the most direct impact.
