Ringmasters

On 16 December 2026, Ringmasters will perform at the Martinikirche Buer in Melle. The Stockholm quartet has been firmly rooted in the barbershop scene since the 2000s: four singers, purely a cappella, with close, precisely tuned harmonies and a clearly defined lead voice. They gained international visibility through the competitions of the Barbershop Harmony Society; in 2012 they won the title of International Quartet Champion — the first European ensemble to do so within that organisation.

On stage they combine classic barbershop arrangements with musical-theatre standards and reimagined pop songs. Unified chords, subtle dynamics and the precise interplay of the four voices are central: sometimes the lead carries the melody, at other times the harmonies open up for brief solo lines and distinctive tags. The repertoire ranges from ballad-like pieces to more rhythmically driven numbers and stays close to the tradition without losing sight of contemporary songs. Ringmasters tour regularly across Europe and North America and collaborate with choirs and a cappella ensembles — on this evening the quartet in its pure form is the focus.
