Turin Brakes - 2026 Spacehopper European Tour

On 3 March 2026 the London duo Turin Brakes will bring the 2026 Spacehopper European Tour to the Luxor in Cologne. Since the late ’90s Olly Knights and Gale Paridjanianian have stood for a folk-rock sound with an acoustic emphasis: two-part vocal harmonies, precise fingerpicking and songs that often begin from an introspective place. Live, the duo is supported by an expanded band, which complements the lean core of their pieces with organic, understated arrangements.

Their releases map this course between intimacy and breadth: The Optimist LP (2001) lays the foundation, Ether Song (2003) opens up the sound, followed by JackInABox (2005) and Dark on Fire (2007). With Outbursts (2010) they moved back toward the acoustic, before We Were Here (2013), Lost Property (2016), Invisible Storm (2018) and Wide-Eyed Nowhere (2022) added further nuances.

At the Luxor the set will connect early chapters — reaching back to the EP debut The Door — with more recent material. Characteristic elements remain clear harmonies, interlocking guitar lines and the alternation between quiet ballads and mildly electrified moments. An evening that places Turin Brakes’ acoustic-based sound at the center.
