Info
Bummelkasten is the solo project of Bernhard Lütke from Berlin. On stage he creates a complete sound using only his voice: beats, bass, melodies, effects and a whole palette of noises, all built up live. Between children’s song, a cappella pop and small radio-play-like pieces, he depicts everyday scenes in a direct, colloquial tone, often from a child’s perspective. Bummelkasten became known in the early 2010s with web videos like “Rolltreppenmax”; in 2015 the album Irgendwas Bestimmtes gathered several tracks that had already matured on stage.
Live it’s just him, using timing, facial expression and rapid shifts of character, close to cabaret. Dense vocal arrangements are layered piece by piece, complemented by short dialogues and soundscapes that make characters and moments immediately tangible: the passenger on the escalator, the crush of daily life, the little misunderstandings everyone recognises. The lyrics remain concrete and down-to-earth, accessible to children while offering enough subtlety for adults.
On 7 November 2026 Bummelkasten brings this voice theatre to the Kulturetage in Oldenburg. A reduced setup with no band and no playback — only voice, body and stage, direct and intimate.
