Jeremy Hababou

On 30 October 2026 at the Corum in Montpellier, Jeremy Hababou, a Franco-Israeli pianist and composer, presents a repertoire at the crossroads of jazz, classical music and Middle Eastern influences. Trained from a very young age and marked by his travels, he treats his pieces as short narratives in which a place, an emotion or a memory surfaces. Throughout the concert, written themes converse with improvisation, harmonies shift, meters breathe, and the piano establishes a supple, precise and open framework.

His playing relies on nuance and listening: contained attacks, intentional silences, phrasing that lets the melody take shape before transforming. The moods alternate between inwardness and rhythmic drive, without heavy-handed effects, guided by a sense of detail that leads the ear. On stage, Hababou favors a direct connection—offering a few signposts to situate a piece, then letting the keyboard take over, carried by a clear musical narrative.
