UB40 - The Unstoppable Tour 2026

UB40 arrives at the Molson Canadian Centre in Moncton on 20 September 2026 with The Unstoppable Tour 2026. Formed in Birmingham in the late 1970s, the band emerged from the social context of the British working class, taking its name from the unemployment benefit form. From political pub gigs to their early releases, UB40 established a dub‑inflected reggae with grounded, socially aware lyrics, from Signing Off (1980) to Present Arms (1981). Starting with Labour of Love (1983), the group explored a repertoire of covers from the 1960s and 1970s and steered its sound toward a more pop‑oriented, melodic direction while continuing to record original material. On stage, UB40 moves between reggae, pop and rock, with brass up front, mid‑tempo rhythms and interpretations that reinvent familiar standards. Despite lineup changes in the 2000s, the collective has kept going, anchored by long‑time members alongside new voices. This concert lines up classics and recent songs, offering a panorama of several decades of British reggae—from their committed beginnings to the reinterpretations that helped define their identity.
