From Houston, Don Toliver has shaped a melodic rap where airy, spatial production meets slow tempos and autotuned lines. After breaking through with the Donny Womack mixtape and his appearance on Travis Scott’s Astroworld, he joined Cactus Jack and rolled out a run of albums that map his range: Heaven or Hell (2020), Life of a Don (2021) and Love Sick (2023). Between R&B textures and darker ballads, he shifts between chant and rap with a laid-back precision that suits his hazy, psychedelic-tinged sound.
Also on the lineup, SoFaygo grew up in Atlanta and blends melodic trap, cloud influences and a high-pitched timbre over bass-heavy, synthetic beats.
