Wishbone Ash

Formed in the late 1960s in Torquay, Wishbone Ash belongs to the British rock wave where blues, hard rock and early progressive elements meet. Their signature lies in the twin guitars: interweaving harmonies, melodic lines answering one another and extended instrumental passages driven by a precise sense of arrangement.

From 1970 the band released a self-titled album, followed by Pilgrimage (1971) and Argus (1972), which introduced folk touches and a more narrative songwriting. Wishbone Four (1973) and There’s the Rub (1974) consolidated their presence on European and North American stages. Over the years personnel changed, but the direction remained the same: a dialogue of guitars at the heart of the sound, balancing rock energy with carefully crafted melody. From the 1990s Andy Powell stabilized a lineup that alternated touring and studio work, from Bona Fide (2002) to Blue Horizon (2014).

On stage, Wishbone Ash unfolds this blend of classic rock and progressive touches—clear riffs, twin-guitar harmonies and instrumental breathing spaces—drawing from a repertoire that spans the decades. The band will be at the Crossroad, Les Cadelis Est, 17690 Angoulins, on April 26, 2026.
