Fred & The Healers deliver their electric blues, fueled by rock from the 1960s and 70s. Around guitarist and vocalist Fred Lani, the band has built since the mid-1990s a sound rooted in the power-trio tradition: guitar up front, a driving bass-and-drum section and, when appropriate, keyboards that add extra low end and color. The repertoire shifts from shuffle and boogie to slower, more tense atmospheres, rooted in Chicago blues and seasoned with contemporary accents. After countless club shows in Belgium and on European blues stages, the group keeps writing, tweaking and rearranging so that both older and recent material stays fresh.
