James Barker Band

On 9 March 2026 the James Barker Band will play at the Plaza Club, Badenerstrasse 109, 8004 Zurich. Built around singer and guitarist James Barker, the quartet comes from Woodville, Ontario: James Barker, Taylor Abram, Bobby Martin and Connor Stephen. Their sound blends contemporary country with pop and rock accents, driven by melodic choruses, prominent electric guitars and lyrics about everyday life, small-town moments and relationships. In 2015 a talent competition at the Boots and Hearts Festival provided their breakthrough; radio singles followed and in 2017 they released their debut EP Game On on Universal Music Canada. In 2019 the band followed up with the single Only, establishing themselves both on large stages and on club tours. After that the quartet deepened its ties to Nashville, toured more extensively in Canada and the US and released, among other tracks, New Old Trucks together with Dierks Bentley. Live, the band favors a direct, rock-oriented interpretation of their country sound — clear, punchy and to the point — at the Plaza Club in Zurich.
