On September 2, 2026, RUSH: Fifty Something takes over Centre Bell in Montréal. Formed in Toronto in 1968, Rush has traced its own line between hard rock, progressive rock and, at times, a heavier sound. The classic trio of Geddy Lee, Alex Lifeson and Neil Peart moved from the blues-inflected debut Rush (1974) to more structured suites and concept pieces like 2112 (1976) and Moving Pictures (1981). Long forms, shifting time signatures and precise melodic writing define their approach, while Peart’s lyrics range from sci-fi storytelling to introspection and social themes.

In the 80s, the band folded in more keyboards and a new wave palette on Signals (1982), before edging back toward a guitar-forward sound through the 90s and 2000s, with Vapor Trails (2002) and Clockwork Angels (2012) as key releases.
