Les Trois Accords bring their wry pop rock and a light punk streak to Montréal on May 9, 2026 at MTELUS, 59 Rue Sainte-Catherine Est. Formed in Drummondville in the late 1990s around singer and writer Simon Proulx, the band built a world where the everyday gets twisted into absurd scenes, with playful language riding crisp guitars and steady, straight-ahead rhythms. Their first release, Gros mammouth album, then its turbo reissue, set the tone for a run of records where the offbeat angle meets sharp hooks: Grand champion international de course, En beau country, J’aime ta grand-mère, then Joie d’être gai, Beaucoup de plaisir and Présence d’esprit. On stage, the repertoire stays mostly in French, anchored by direct melodies and choruses, with arrangements that swing from lean pop to rougher rock textures. Between derision and pop culture detours, Les Trois Accords carry a catalogue that lands immediately, both on record and in concert.
