Rise Against play L’Olympia in Montreal on March 6, 2026. Formed in Chicago at the end of the 1990s, the band sits between punk rock and melodic hardcore, driven by Tim McIlrath’s voice and lyrics. With Joe Principe on bass, Brandon Barnes on drums and Zach Blair on guitar, Rise Against balance hardcore speed with mid‑tempo tension and choruses carried by McIlrath. From The Unraveling and Revolutions per Minute to Siren Song of the Counter Culture and The Sufferer & the Witness, then Appeal to Reason, Endgame, The Black Market, Wolves and Nowhere Generation, their songs link personal stories to social and political fault lines.
Destroy Boys bring a Sacramento DIY background to the stage. Built around singer‑guitarist Alexia Roditis and guitarist Violet Mayugba, the trio plays fast, melodic punk with touches of garage, pop‑punk and grunge, supported by a rotating rhythm section. First records Sorry, Mom and Make Room set the pace; Open Mouth, Open Heart on Hopeless Records sharpened the mix with more contrast and melody. Lyrics cut straight to identity, relationships, gender‑based violence and mental health, with firm roots in alternative, queer and feminist scenes.
