The Midnight: Time Machines

The Midnight brings the Time Machines tour to History in Toronto on April 28, 2026. Formed by singer-songwriter Tyler Lyle and Danish producer Tim McEwan after a Los Angeles writing session in 2012, the duo has built a synthwave identity that blends melodic electronics, hints of 80s rock and a cinematic sense of space. Their songs lean on storytelling and a voice that carries memories of adolescence, city nights and wired nostalgia, with a saxophone often tracing the emotional line through the mix.

From the first EP Days of Thunder, the project grew through Endless Summer and Kids, shaping a more pop-forward writing, then drifted into darker hues with Nocturnal and Monsters. Heroes later opened the door to a more guitar-driven palette without losing the synth core. Time Machines extends that path, turning around themes of memory, distance and forward motion.

On stage, The Midnight stretch into a full band to translate studio layers into living arrangements. Drums, sax and guitars anchor the synths, giving the set a steady pulse and room to build. A focused live show where textures, hooks and atmosphere move together.
