Emperor brings The Emperial Wrath Tour to Montréal on March 28, 2026 at MTELUS, 59 Rue Sainte-Catherine Est. Formed in 1991 in Notodden by Ihsahn and Samoth, the Norwegian band shaped a strain of black metal that blends speed, atmosphere and an orchestral sense of structure. From In the Nightside Eclipse to Anthems to the Welkin at Dusk, IX Equilibrium and Prometheus, their catalog moves between raw tension and intricate arrangements. After years of selective appearances, the band’s live shows lean into those early records, delivered with a tight, melodic and complex approach.
Sharing the bill, Blood Incantation push a different vector of heaviness. Since 2011 in Denver, the quartet has built a technical, cosmic death metal that drifts from progressive structures to psychedelic atmospheres and sci‑fi themes. Early demos and the EP Interdimensional Extinction led to Starspawn in 2016 and Hidden History of the Human Race in 2019, records that stretch tempos and density without losing focus. In 2022, Timewave Zero revealed an entirely ambient side. On stage, the band moves between intricate, riff‑driven assaults and spacious passages, bridging death metal and exploratory soundscapes.
