Chance Peña brings his finely drawn songwriting to Vancouver on July 22, 2026 at the Commodore Ballroom. Born in East Texas, he bridges folk tradition and a modern sensibility with a quiet ease. Signed at 17 to Secret Road Music Publishing, he quickly found a place on screen with Up, Up & Away in the film Five Feet Apart, and co-wrote John Legend’s Conversations in the Dark, a track that led to a Grammy nomination. On stage, he favors stripped-back arrangements, close-mic vocals and lyrics that read like snapshots of everyday life.
Across releases like Ever-Shifting, Continual Blossoming and When I Change My Mind I Don’t Mean It—written in retreat in a California cabin—Peña leans into organic textures, fingerpicked guitars and intimate atmospheres. After touring the US and Europe with The Lumineers and Tom Odell, he lands in Canada for a set that puts the focus on songcraft: quiet dynamics, careful storytelling, and melodies that stay with you long after the last chord.
