Toc Toc de Laurent Baffie

Toc Toc by Laurent Baffie opens at Théâtre Beaulieu Nantes on June 20, 2026. In Dr. Stern’s waiting room, a neuropsychiatrist, six people with obsessive–compulsive disorders have been waiting for months. Palilalia, Tourette’s syndrome, nosophobia (fear of illness), fear of stepping on lines: each arrives with their own rituals, tics and strategies for coping. The doctor is delayed, so they must talk, listen, set rules and invent games to pass the time. The waiting room becomes a space where obsessions intersect, clash and are revealed, amid confidences, slip‑ups and attempts at agreement.

Directed by Pascal Maillard, the cast brings together Mathieu Gaudin, Marie Elie, Sophie Morin, Nelly Pichotbadeaud, Kamal Rawas and Olivier Collin. Together they embody this ensemble comedy focused on the group, on the dynamics of control and on what unravels when routine begins to crack. A close immersion in Baffie’s writing that stays true to the characters, where language, situations and silences gradually sketch a collective portrait.
