Info
Alice on the Roof, a Belgian singer-songwriter, made her name with a clear voice threaded with subtle melancholic cracks. Nourished by Nordic pop (Sigur Rós, Lykke Li, Emilie Nicolas, Agnes Obel), she also wrote “The Right Words,” an anthem commissioned by the Belgian Chancellery for marriage equality. She opens a new chapter with “Alice,” her first album recorded entirely in French. The record features songwriting contributions from Clou, Noé Preszow, Adrien Gallo and Vincha, a cover of an Anne Sylvestre song performed with Catherine Ringer, and production shaped by Albin de la Simone, Paco del Rosso, Sage and Kid Sophie. Piano-and-voice arrangements, brass, synthetic pads and electronic percussion underpin tracks like “Miroir, miroir,” “Tyrannosaure,” “Today” and “15 ans,” where she explores self-image, impulses of the present, family ties and intimate healing.
On April 8, 2026 at the Maison de la Culture Clermont-Ferrand, she will present this French-language repertoire and her pared-back universe, between keyboards, measured electronic textures and melodies that linger in the mind. A sensitive and direct pop — a return to the essentials: songs that speak plainly and an artist who has found her language.
