Info
Searows, the folk project of singer-songwriter and guitarist Alec Duckart from the Pacific Northwest, stops in Paris as part of the Death in The Business of Whaling Tour. After Guard Dog, his self-released album from 2022, he returns with Death in the Business of Whaling, due January 23, 2026 on Last Recordings On Earth. Anchored by voice and guitar, his new songs will be at the center of a set that will also revisit his debut album at La Bellevilloise in Paris on March 30, 2026.
Conceived in Duckart’s bedroom in Portland—where Guard Dog was written, recorded and self-released—Searows quickly found an online audience, with praise from Ethel Cain, Gracie Abrams and Robin Pecknold. For the new album he left the home studio for a renovated former stable near Seattle, aiming to broaden his palette. He worked there alongside co-producer Trevor Spencer (Father John Misty, Beach House, Mary Lattimore) to open up the arrangements and capture a larger scale, without losing the intimacy of his early work.
