Info

Alexis Le Rossignol draws his stories from everyday life and those neutral zones where seemingly nothing much happens, yet where everything is decided. In The Meaning of Life, he starts from a memory of a horse named Sans plus and from a longing that wasn’t really a longing, and unfolds human-scale tales. He blends storytelling with a kind of offhand, fridge-door philosophy, linking short scenes, digressions and the questions we prefer to skirt. What do we do with our lives? How do we make our choices, our renunciations, the little manoeuvres that keep us standing? Alexis moves forward calmly, with a crisp delivery, precise writing and that slight skew that sets up a situation before twisting it just enough.

On June 6, 2026 at the Théâtre La Gaîté Rive Gauche in Paris, he unfurls this new set as one opens a notebook: personal fragments, field observations, absurd micro-logics and hushed confidences. No grand theories — rather, details that line up and eventually shed light on the question without closing it. You’ll encounter interior dialogues, tiny lives, shaky plans, and Alexis’s small recurring refrain, somewhere between gentle clarity and feigned nonchalance. An hour spent following his gaze close to the real, unpretentious, where everyone can find a trace of themselves in their own way.
