Alexis Le Rossignol draws his stories from everyday life and those neutral zones where seemingly nothing much happens, yet where everything is decided. In The Meaning of Life, he starts from a memory of a horse named Sans plus and from a longing that wasn’t really a longing, and unfolds human-scale tales.
