In La Nouvelle Vague Saint-Malo, on March 25, 2026, Cedric Burnside brings the Hill Country blues he learned in the heart of Mississippi and inherited from his grandfather, R.L. Burnside. For twenty-five years he has been carving out his path with spare riffs, foot-stomps and songs that take their time repeating the pulse. A musician, singer and guitarist, he continues to anchor this stripped-down style in the present without freezing it.

His latest album, Hill Country Love, was made with Luther Dickinson. Fourteen tracks recorded in two days and conceived as snapshots: Burnside speaks candidly about what he’s going through, the place of family, life on the road and the impact of his 2022 Grammy win. You hear the blues core, but also hints of rock, R&B and hip-hop, integrated effortlessly as a natural extension of his influences.

On stage, Cedric Burnside holds it all together with a restrained energy and rhythmic patterns that settle in, between cutting guitar and direct vocals. He links the fundamentals to the crosscurrents that nourish his songwriting.
