Following Tryo’s 25th-anniversary tour, Christophe Mali returns as a solo artist with a new album. A singer-songwriter known for his socially engaged lyrics, he here offers more intimate songs, drawing on personal stories that resonate with everyone. His direct writing is present throughout, with stripped-down ballads and rhythms tinged with world music influences, carried by delicate guitars, a few keyboards and a recognisable voice. The tracks move between confidences, everyday chronicles and small glimmers of hope, staying close to the words and avoiding unnecessary effects.
