Psykup

Psykup has carved out a distinctive place in French alternative metal over three decades. Five albums, an acoustic EP and two live DVDs later, the Toulouse-based band moves forward without blinkers, blending black humor, a nervy groove and angular riffs. Influences from Primus, Pantera and Alice In Chains surface, but the imprint remains personal, between jolts and melody. On stage, the band has refined its approach on major stages, from the Eurockéennes to Hellfest, with a keen sense of contrast and letting go.

On April 18, 2026 at Petit Bain in Paris, Psykup will be showcasing The Joke of Tomorrow, released in 2025 on Verycords, and revisiting the songs that have punctuated its journey. On the bill: rhythmic ruptures, choruses that bite, controlled derailments and a few caustic asides. Thirty years after their beginnings, the stance remains the same: freedom, intensity and irony, driven by a flexible rhythm section, cutting guitars and vocals that slide from spoken-sung delivery to rougher, more abrasive tones.
