Bachar mar khalife

Bachar Mar-Khalifé, a French-Lebanese pianist, composer and singer, explores a territory where Arab tradition intersects with contemporary minimalism and understated electronics. The son of musician Marcel Khalifé, he grew up between Beirut and Paris and has made his mark with a physical piano style, organic percussion and a voice that moves between intimacy and incantation. In concert, he builds his pieces through loops and layers, gives silence room to breathe, then reignites the pulse with dry, crisp strikes, discreet synths and lyrics in Arabic or French. He will present this personal language on 14 March 2026 at Le Lieu Unique in Nantes. The program will feature key compositions from his repertoire, revisited live, as well as new pieces conceived for a stripped-down format in which every motif finds its place. It will be an opportunity to closely follow his transitions, shifts in dynamics and the way he makes piano, machines and drumheads coexist.
