Bertrand Belin continues his singular path with a new album that shifts his bearings and opens up new ground. The piano takes the lead on several tracks, casting a different light on the electronic-guitar-and-drums fusion that runs through his recent records. Strings appear in brief touches, reinvigorating the harmonies and carrying the voice into contrasting moods, between gravity and lightness. Belin sings more clearly here, stretching his precise diction and unfolding a generous prose that converses with a crisp minimalism. The themes stay close to experience: the place we occupy, the looks we cast, movement, love, attention, momentum, fears and recurring questions.
These new songs come to life on stage on 24 April 2026 at Le Silex in Auxerre. The live show is centered on the clarity of the lyrics and the sonic material, where piano, electronic textures, guitars and the rhythmic backbone answer one another without unnecessary effects. It’s an opportunity to enter a writing that is at once precise and open, and to hear a voice that seeks the right motif rather than mere showmanship.
