Ara Malikian

Ara Malikian will be at Altigone Saint-Orens-de-Gameville on March 21, 2026 with Intruso, the program of his new world tour. A Lebanese violinist of Armenian origin, trained in Germany and later in London, he brings the classical repertoire into dialogue with music from elsewhere—from Bach to flamenco, rock, tango, jazz, klezmer and Arabic influences. Intruso draws on what he observes through his son’s eyes: a direct, playful and curious gaze that recalls first discoveries. On stage, Malikian advances as a musical storyteller, weaving transitions that cross stylistic borders without erasing them; virtuosity is put at the service of narrative and collective rhythm. He is accompanied by a sympathetic quartet: Iván Melón Lewis on piano, Georvis Pico Milán on drums, Dayan Abad on guitar and Iván Ruiz Machado on bass. Together they create a tight ensemble in which the violin acts as guide, from intimate breaths to more driving passages. A concert like a return to the impulse of childhood, between heritage and journeys.
