Olivier de Benoist returns with a show that takes the pulse of family life in his own way, between biting clarity and a sense of the offbeat. The comedian observes the daily routine of a father and husband trying to preserve a little freedom amid domestic turmoil. Flimsy excuses, small strategies to slip away for five minutes, absurd arguments and awkward displays of affection: he turns these scenes into a series of stories in which everyone recognizes their own foibles. Never lingering, ODB plays the card of self-mockery, subverts clichés and steers family tensions toward sharp humor, delivered with precise timing and language that hits home. We find again his taste for willful disingenuousness, the cruel but tender detours, and this way of saying out loud what many prefer to think quietly.
