Patrick Vidal

Active since the late 1970s, Patrick Vidal has developed a career that links indie rock, new wave and electronic music within the French scene. Initially identified as the singer and songwriter of Marie et les Garçons, an emblematic band of the French new wave, he shifted at the turn of the 1980s toward synthetic sounds and club culture. Firmly established as a DJ and producer, Vidal explores various forms of house and techno while maintaining a connection to his post‑punk and pop roots. His productions and remixes have been released on several European labels and have led him to collaborate with musicians from both electronic music and rock/pop backgrounds. On stage, he favors sets built around long progressions where hypnotic house, melodic techno, disco touches and references to new wave intersect. This continuity between songwriting, electronic experimentation and dance music marks his entire career.
