Dax J

Emerging from the London rave scene, British DJ and producer Dax J initially trained in jungle and drum and bass before moving toward a more direct form of techno. Later based on the European mainland and regularly booked on major techno stages, Dax J has developed a fast, percussive and dark sound drawing on acid, industrial elements and 1990s rave aesthetics. Founder of the Monnom Black label, launched in 2012, he has built a catalogue focused on raw, hypnotic techno while releasing his own maxi singles. The release of the album Shades of Black in 2015 marked a significant milestone in his discography, laying the foundations for a style where abrasive textures, acid lines and oppressive atmospheres coexist with club‑oriented track structures. With Offending Public Morality in 2017, Dax J expanded this vocabulary into more narrative formats, blending dancefloor tracks with more experimental passages. Regularly featured on the line‑ups of European clubs and specialist festivals, Dax J occupies a space between British sound system culture and contemporary techno, maintaining in both his sets and productions a strong taste for rhythmic intensity and gradual shifts in tension.
