Spencer Product,
trend maker, nightlife empresario and music guru, has been at the center of New York's burgeoning dance music scene, capturing headlines or his blend of beats and creative direction for some of the best brands out there. You'll find him at the center of New York's downtown club circuit, or DJing in select nightspots and private events around the globe. Whether a fashion influencer or underground party producer, Spencer's name is always tip of the tongue when people talk about cutting edge music.

Ruff Club, Spencer's latest party, acquired club stardom mere months after it's launch in 2006, with established bands such as We Are Scientists, Andrew W.K., Walter Meego, Ssion, We Are Wolves, Golden Filter, Drop the Lime, Selfish Cunt, A.R.E. Weapons and The Films gracing its stage; internationally renowned DJs such as Boys Noize, Para One, Kitsune Maison DJs, Arthur Baker, The Gossip and Tommie Sunshine, and The Gossip have stood behind it's decks. With this caliber of talent, it's no surprise Spencer and Ruff Club became one of the most talked about parties of the moment and won "Best Party" at the 2nd Annual Paper Magazine Nightlife Awards in 2006. Spencer's debut mix compilation "...Product", inspired by Ruff Club's music was released in September, 2008, and is currently about to release a 2nd compilation (PRODUCT Nº 2). He is known for his amalgamation of pop, electro and indie beats, influenced from his beginnings in the NYC electro and performance art scene.

Born in Normal, Illinois, Spencer moved to the Big Apple in 1997 and got started in the scene throwing parties at his Williamsburg loft at the turn of the millennium, attracting a great mix of cool kids, emerging fashion designers, musicians and artists. When the crowd got too big, he moved his group of partygoers to Luxx in 2001, where he and friend Larry Tee, started "Berliniamsburg" and it's counterpart, "Mutants". Everyone from 2 Many DJs to James Murphy (DFA / LCD Soundsystem) to art school aficionados Fischerspooner came out and performed; a then-unknown band called The Scissor Sisters gave a debut performance on the "Berliniamsburg" stage. The club night garnered international attention, and these parties led to NYC's "Electroclash" movement shaping the aesthetic for the downtown and Williamsburg nightlife scene.

Full of ideas, Product moved on to create "We Bite!" in late 2003, a electro rock 'n roll debauch at Happy Ending, transforming NYC's Tuesday nights into a not to be missed night out on the scene. With a rotating line-up of celebrity guest DJs ranging from She Wants Revenge, Bloc Party to The Misshapes, Steve Aoki, and Felix Da Housecat, We Bite!'s raw sound and scene moved Paper Magazine to vote Spencer , Best DJ at the 1st Annual Nightlife Awards in November 2005.

Spencer has played hot club nights and art parties throughout North America, Australia, Japan, Mexico and Europe and has collaborated with top design houses for numerous fashion events. Some of his highlights include DJ'ing live sets for Stella McCartney, Balenciaga, Dior Homme, Alexander McQueen, Anna Sui, Jeremy Scott, Top Shop, parties for Purple Magazine, Visionaire, the Stedelijk Museum's 'The Andy Warhol Club' parties in Amsterdam, the New Museum, Andrea Rosen Gallery, and a few month long residencies in Tokyo for Club Le Baron de Paris. That's not the only way Spencer has been a darling in the Fashion industry's eye. He has also consulted on fashion show music for DKNY, Banana Republic as well as others, and his 'electro parody' stage act "Prance"'s hit, "Contra-Pussy" was used by Michel Gaubert in Jeremy Scott's 1st New York fashion show in 2002.

Spencer became front man of the electro-punk creation, Black Moustache. After enjoying immediate success and notoriety after the release of their debut album in 2003, and 12" remix EP in 2004, they performed live shows up and down the East Coast and Canada, including a special set in Pittsburgh at the Warhol Museum. In 2005, he and Black Moustache collaborator, Mike Skinner, worked as producers on various projects for other artists, such as writing and producing Fendi's 'Mother Inc.' album (2004) for artworld mogul, Yvonne Force Villareal (Art Production Fund).

These days, Spencer has his hands full dj touring, music consulting, managing his weekly parties as well as investing energy in his visual artwork . His latest single, "We Bite!" from his orginal album recorded with producer, Jake Sinclair, was just released Summer 2009 and a forth coming 5 song EP,"Nightology" featuring a video by artist ,Robert Knoke will be released Spring 2010. Stay tuned for more from Spencer Product.
