infos

A sonogram is a time-varying spectral representation (forming an image) that shows how the spectral density of a signal varies with time. Also known as spectral waterfalls or spectrograms, sonograms are used for medical imagery, for identifying phonetic sounds, analyzing the cries of animals; they are also used in many other fields including medical analysis, music, sonar/radar, speech processing,[2] seismology, etc.
Obstetric sonography is commonly used during pregnancy and is widely recognized by the public. Generally, a higher intensity of ultrasound waves are used to detect the baby's heartbeat, and as these waves are also directed and focused onto a single organ.
Echocardiography is an essential tool in cardiology, to diagnose e.g. dilatation of parts of the heart and function of heart ventricles and valves.
There are several different scanning modes in medical and obstetric sonography. The standard common obstetric diagnostic mode is 2D scanning.[1] In 3D scanning, however, instead of the sound waves being sent straight down and reflected back, they are sent at different angles.
