Info
On May 12, 2027, Ocean Alley brings its North America ’27 tour to MacEwan Hall Concerts in Calgary. The six-piece from Sydney’s Northern Beaches has built a sound where psychedelic rock meets surf, reggae and dub, driven by warm basslines, hazy keys and guitars that stretch out without losing the groove. From early EPs to albums like Lost Tropics, Chiaroscuro, Lonely Diamond, Low Altitude Living and Love Balloon, they’ve tightened their songwriting while keeping that laid-back swing that makes their songs hit live: loose rhythms, melodic hooks, and a slow-burn momentum that knows when to lift.
Opening the night, Mild Orange sets the tone with a softer, dreamier take on indie rock. Formed in Dunedin, the band leans into airy guitars, discreet beats and melodies built for late-night singalongs, in the vein of Foreplay, Mild Orange and Looking for Space. Expect a set that stays intimate but catchy, hovering between introspective pop and light psychedelia before Ocean Alley takes the room further into the haze.
