Info
On February 17, 2027, Jacob Banks arrives at Espace Julien in Marseille with his expansive, modern soul—somewhere between R&B, pop and gospel-tinged impulses. Driven by a deep, immediately arresting voice, he likes to play with contrasts: slow, tense ballads, sharper build‑ups, and that sense of dynamics that evokes a film score, with guitars, brass and electronic textures.
A songwriter who spent time in Birmingham and then London, Banks has built his universe through his notable EPs before expanding it on Village, where contemporary blues and alternative pop intersect. More recently, Lies About The War marks a turn toward leaner writing, with guitars placed front and center and backing vocals that take space. On stage, these tracks gain in intensity and momentum, with a precise balance between intimacy and power.
