Info
On October 16, 2027 at Scarborough Spa, Nigel Kennedy brings his Virtuoso show, a snapshot of a career built on refusing neat categories. Trained in the classical tradition from the Menuhin School to Juilliard, he’s known for pushing the violin beyond polite concert-hall habits, letting phrasing, rhythm and improvisation take real space.
Kennedy first made his mark with a bold reading of the core repertoire, then widened the frame: from his landmark take on Vivaldi’s The Four Seasons to projects that flirt with rock, pop, klezmer and jazz, without turning the instrument into a gimmick. Expect a night driven by sound and personality, where technique is never the point on its own, but the engine for unexpected turns, sharp dynamics, and a more direct, physical relationship to the music.
